Eritrea: Leadership training in the central region

The National Union of Eritrean Women organized a two-week leadership training for 80 members from various government institutions as well as board members of the National Union of Eritrean Youth and Students and the National Union of Eritrean Women.

The training was conducted by Dr. Haile Neguse, an Eritrean expert residing in the United States.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the training held on July 23, Ms. Tekea Tesfamicael, President of the National Union of Eritrean Women, said that the training was part of the efforts of the national union to develop the capacities of women.

The trainees, for their part, welcoming the opportunity offered to them, called for the sustainability of the program.

Similarly, the National Union of Eritrean Youth and Students organized social science training for 99 secondary school students, including 55 girls, from all sub-areas of Anseba region.

The training provided from July 14 to 22 focused on political and ideological concept, philosophy and religion, youth and national service, National Charter, nation and nationalism, youth and environmental conservation, as well as than information technology.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Azazi Bereketeab, head of the region’s trade union branch, called on the trainees to apply the training imparted to them as part of the nation-building process.
