LCB Worldwide organizes a free fumigation exercise in the central region

Crisis Management Company, LCB Worldwide Ghana Limited and the Ghana Union of Traders Association (GUTA) took their market center fumigation project to Cape Coast on Saturday 29th January 2022.

As was the case with the Abossey Okai spare parts market in the Greater Accra region and the six shopping malls in the eastern regional capital, Koforidua, thousands of shops were fumigated in Cape Coast in the purpose of ensuring that traders in the region go about their business. a conducive and friendly atmosphere.

The three main market centers in Cape Coast, namely Kotokoraba Market, Anafo Market and Abura Market, have been fully fumigated.

The Market Center Fumigation Project is an initiative of LCB Worldwide Ghana Limited in collaboration with GUTA with the overriding objective of supporting the government’s efforts to stem the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic and is carried out free of charge under corporate social responsibility (CSR) of the company.

According to the Managing Director of LCB Worldwide Ghana Limited, Mr. Kareem Abu, the plan is to undertake the exercise nationwide, with a focus on market hubs.

“Our plan is to cover market centers across the country to ensure that we provide some relief to traders in their business. As a company, we will do our part by fumigating market centers and we will also call on traders to complete this initiative by respecting safety protocols. If we join forces in our collective effort to win the fight against the pandemic, we can indeed win together. »

Mr. Abu expressed his opinion in an interview with the media during the exercise. He said the company sees the project as imperative because it provides an opportunity to give back to society as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR).

GUTA National Executive Member Nana Kwabena Peprah expressed her gratitude to the GUTA leaders in the central region and traders in general for their cooperation which made the exercise go smoothly.

He assured that the national leadership of GUTA will continue to make the welfare of traders in the country a priority. Nana Peprah, who is also the Greater Accra Regional Chairperson of GUTA, pleaded with Corporate Ghana to emulate the shining example of LCB Worldwide Ghana in supporting the people of Ghana in such difficult times.

The latest Covid-19 figures provided by the Ghana Health Service indicate that active cases of COVID-19 in Ghana stand at 1,906, confirmed cases at 156,690, new cases at 175, with 1,391 deaths and 153,393 healings.

LCB Worldwide Ghana Limited has been contracted by the government to ensure disinfection of all cargo leaving or entering ports as well as entry and exit points.

This decision is in line with the requirements of the International Health Regulations of the World Health Organization.
