Ordinary Meeting of the Central Region Assembly

The Central Region Assembly held its 20th ordinary meeting on February 25 at the City Hall of Asmara under the theme “Let us strengthen our global resilience”.

During the meeting attended by the heads of regional administration, the PFDJ, national associations, line ministries and administrators of the sub-regions, the president of the regional assembly, Mr. Abraham Semere, said that the assembly had made great efforts to implement the recommendations and resolutions adopted at the XIX Regular Meeting of the Regional Assembly, and called on the members of the assembly to enhance their participation in national affairs.

Mr. Abraham also called on the public to increase participation in water and soil conservation activities, road rehabilitation, micro-dams, as well as agricultural activities to boost agricultural production and development. ensuring food security.

According to the reports presented at the meeting, a commendable effort has been made to improve the supply of vegetables and fruits to the markets, as well as drinking water for the population.

Members of the Assembly debated at length the reports presented and adopted several recommendations, including the proper monitoring of the implementation of the guidelines to control the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic and the revision of the cost of fuel, electricity and phone.

Speaking on this occasion, the Governor of the Center Region, Mr. Fesehaye Haile, expressed the availability of the regional administration to accompany the regional assembly in all its efforts.
