SMSU GOLF: Mustangs end game at Central Region Preview in 19th place | News, Sports, Jobs

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – The Southwestern Minnesota State Women’s Golf Team concluded play at the Central Region preview Monday by shooting a 46-over-par 334 to finish with an 84-over 660 and get a 19th place. The tournament, featuring many of the NCAA’s top Central Region teams, took place on the Hot Springs Country Club, par 72, 5,948-yard course.

Central Missouri won the tag team title with a score of 17 of 593, winning by two strokes over Arkansas Tech. Jacqueline Klemm of Arkansas Tech and Chiara Sturaro of Arkansas-Monticello each won medalist honors shooting even scores of 144.

Sally Gallagher shot SMSU’s low round on Monday with a 9 of 81, which included 11 starts and tied for 61st overall at 17 of 161.

Jacqueline Gossen, who completed the Mustangs’ low round at 7 of 79 on Monday, allowed a 12 of 84 on Monday with a birdie and nine starts and tied for 69th at 19 of 163. Lauryn Driscoll had seven starts on Monday and finished 13 of 85 for 79th place at 22 of 166. Ashley Trongard birdied a pair and six pars on Monday to shoot a 12 of 84 to finish 86th overall at 26 of 170. Anneke Weg closed Monday with seven starts on a 15-over-87 track and a tie for 90th overall at 31-over 175.

The southwestern state of Minnesota concludes the fall season next Monday and Tuesday at the Midwest Classic Invite hosted by the University of Central Missouri and played at Mules National Golf Club in Warrensburg.
