Somali forces kill over 10 Al-Shabab fighters in central region
MOGADISHU — Somali special forces, Danab, have killed more than ten al-Shabab militants and injured several others during security operations in the center of the country, officials said on Thursday.
Military officials told SNA radio that special forces conducted a series of security operations against the extremist group in several villages in Mudug area on Wednesday.
“Danab forces have launched operations against al-Shabab in several villages including Qararow, Kalaxiran, Goryale, Dhumale, Caad, Gabdhale and Waable, among others, in the Mudug area,” Army Radio reported.
Government forces have stepped up security operations against the allied terror group Al-Qaeda to liberate areas still under the group’s control.
