UPDATE @ 11:30 am — The deceased woman has been identified as Elaine Macdonald, 36 years old, resident of the Lucerne valley. The other driver of the 2019 Mack Pinnacle has been identified as Kevin Barricman47 years old, resident of Apple Valley.
Sheriff’s officials said Elaine Macdonald was traveling north on Central Road and the Mack truck was traveling east on State Highway 18 as it approaches the intersection with Central Road.
“During the investigation, it was determined that the Ford Explorer did not stop at the red signal and proceeded north to the intersection where the Mack truck overran the Ford Explorer. Following the collision, Macdonald was ejected from the vehicle and sustained fatal injuries,” the statement read.
It is not known at this time whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the collision.

APPLE VALLEY, CA (VVNG.com) — A woman driving an SUV was killed after a traffic accident with a tractor-trailer in Apple Valley.
It happened at 12:08 a.m., Saturday, May 14, 2022, at the intersection of Central Road and State Highway 18.
The driver of a white 2004 Ford Explorer was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities closed Highway 18 between Pauhaska and Central Roads for several hours while the Apple Valley Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team (TEAM) dealt with the scene.
The cause of the collision is under investigation and the identity of the deceased woman is pending notification to next of kin.
